TERRORISM, civil wars, refugee crises, the breakdown of Gordon Southern’s marriage.

Recent events have been so depressing that they have to be made fun of. And accomplished UK comedian Gordon Southern does a fine job of that.

His motto — “If you’re not laughing, you’re learning” — is entirely accurate.

Truth be told, you’ll do both during this incredibly well-scripted and fast-paced show.

The south Londoner’s historical expertise is evident from the outset. Starting out in the late 1980s, key events up until the appointment of Donald Trump as US president — further proof that we’re on the path to self-annihilation, according to Southern — are given a humorous edge.

The only thing I didn’t like about this show was that it jolted me as to how fast time passes — which should act as another lesson for attendees: make the most of it people.
